How to Set Up the Dalux Integration in Vrex

Contents

Vrex is a virtual reality (VR) collaboration solution for BIM that integrates with Dalux, letting teams bring their Dalux models straight into VR. Setting up the Dalux integration in Vrex requires account owners to obtain a specific API key and Base URL from Dalux support. These credentials provide the necessary access for synchronization between the platforms.

Users enter these credentials into the Vrex integration settings to activate the connection. Once enabled, Vrex projects can be linked directly to Dalux models to facilitate seamless data sharing.

Step 1 – Get the API key and Base URL from Dalux

To connect Vrex to Dalux, the account owner first needs to obtain two key pieces of data from Dalux and then enter them into Vrex. The account owner contacts support@dalux.com and asks for:

    • API key
    • Base URL

According to Dalux’s documentation, a customer-specific API key is required to access the data services. You also obtain the Base URL by contacting support@dalux.com. Read more in the Dalux API documentation.

Step 2 – Enter the API key and Base URL in Vrex

Once you have received the API key and Base URL from Dalux, these are entered into the Vrex account of the person (or people) who should be able to create the Dalux connection on behalf of the project. This allows Vrex to synchronize directly with Dalux.

In Vrex, open the menu in the top-left corner and select Integrations.

Step 3 – Connect projects to the Dalux integration in Vrex

With the integration connected, you can connect your Vrex projects directly to your Dalux models. For a full walkthrough of selecting and linking models once the connection is in place, see our guide to linking Dalux models to your Vrex projects.
